We're committed to delivering your Gousto box and maintaining a high quality service throughout this unprecedented situation. We are following the current guidelines from the NHS, World Health Organisation and European Food Safety Authority to make sure that your recipes are delivered safely to your door, and we will of course share any updates as things evolve.
What is Gousto doing to protect against Coronavirus?
The health and safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority. The Gousto factory went through a BRC Food safety audit and received an A grade on 2nd April. We’re proud to always uphold strict health and safety measures at Gousto, and we have evolved these even further in light of the current situation. We’re continuing to monitor the evolving advice from the Government and will continue to put all necessary measures in place.
- There are dedicated healthcare workers on site at our factory to monitor our staff as they come into and leave work.
- Shifts have been staggered to enforce social distancing, and hand-washing is monitored at all entries and exits.
- All staff have been fully briefed on the risks of Coronavirus, and anyone feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms is sent home immediately. If this happens, we have contingency plans in place to protect our staff and our customers.
- All areas in our factory are cleaned regularly and thoroughly, before, after and throughout shifts. This includes sanitising the lines at the end of each batch of deliveries.
- Our team is working closely with all suppliers to maintain the quality of our ingredients.

Can Coronavirus be spread on food?
We always take food safety incredibly seriously here at Gousto, and continue to uphold impeccably high hygiene standards amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Our team is working closely with all suppliers to maintain the quality of our ingredients. According to the latest guidelines from the NHS, World Health Organisation (WHO) and European Food Safety Authority, it’s highly unlikely that the virus can be spread through packages or food. Please visit the NHS website or the European Food Safety Authority if you are still worried.
We’re also monitoring the evolving advice from the Government and WHO and will continue to put all necessary measures in place.
Can I have a contactless delivery?
Yes you can. The safety of our customers, colleagues and the entire UK is of the utmost importance to us. For this reason, our couriers will no longer ask customers to sign handheld devices and instead the driver will sign on their behalf.
Our couriers will place your Gousto box on your doorstep, ring or knock on the door and then retreat 2 metres distance. When the door is opened, they will explain they are making a delivery and ask for surname confirmation. If you’re not home or you’re self-isolating and unable to open the door, the delivery will be left in a safe place as per normal safety procedures. Please make sure that you have a safe space specified in your delivery instructions.
Please note that delivery instructions must be updated before your cut-off point (at midday, three days before delivery). After this we are unable to make any changes to your order.
What should I do if the day I’m looking to order for is sold out?
We’re experiencing extremely high demand as we all try to navigate this challenging period. Because of this, there are some days where stock is running low or completely sold out.
The best thing to do is try changing your delivery day to later on in the week (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday). Availability varies day by day, so you may find the recipes you’re looking for on a less busy delivery date.
If another day doesn’t work for you and you’re set up on an active subscription, you might have to skip your order for this week. We’re so sorry that we’re unable to give you our usual level of service. Please bear with us during this difficult time.
When will I be allowed to sign up to Gousto?
We’re thrilled to now be able to accept new customers again! We are still dealing with some capacity constraints, which means available delivery days are still limited. Don’t worry, we won’t stop working to increase our capacity. We can’t wait to deliver our delicious recipes to your door!
Why is Gousto changing its menu?
We’ve teamed-up with our friends at Charlie Bigham’s to bring you a selection of their delicious Oven Ready dishes. You can now find these on our main menu, perfect for those nights when you need a break from cooking.
Please note that you’ll only be able to add one Charlie Bigham’s Oven Ready dish to your Gousto order, as it will take the space in the box of a normal Gousto recipe.
We made this decision so our menu can offer even more convenient options for a delicious dinner - Oven Ready dishes as well as our usual home cooked recipes.
